Research Associate (Doctoral student)
The department Survey Design & Methodology (SDM) is both nationally and internationally recognized for its expertise in survey methodology, gained over many years by conducting own research as well as consulting on and implementing renowned survey projects.
With the Open Access Repository for Measurement Instruments (ZIS), the Department offers one of the largest collections of validated instruments in the Social and Behavioural Sciences. Soon, the repository will become part of an integrated product that will provide users with tools to facilitate the creation of their own measurement instruments. To support this, new tutorials and documentation standards need to be developed.
Your tasks will be:
- Developing documentation standards and tutorials in the field of measurement/psychometrics
- Reviewing submissions of empirically validated measurement instruments
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of the Repository
- Conducting independent research in the field of measurement/psychometrics in the context of a PhD
Your profile:
- Scientific university degree (e.g. Master’s degree) in Psychology, Sociology, or related discipline
- Very good understanding of quantitative methods, including classical and modern test theories
- Solid programming skills in R (knowledge of Python or Julia is an advantage)
- Very good German and English language skills
